Cycling Theory
Today Constable Matt (NZ Police Education Officer) and Phil Stevens (Sports Manawatu) came to talk to us about cycling. We learnt about the rules for cyclists, helmet rules, give way rules and that you should do a bike check every time you ride the bike. We will be using these skills over the coming weeks. Some give way rules include: Top of the T goes before ME!; Give way to people coming from our right. The bike check is also known as an ABC check. Air Pressure (tires need to be hard/firm); Brakes (need two working brakes); Chain.
A note will be coming home today with your child identifying the dates that we will require your bike and helmet at school.
